INGOMA KA ZWELONKE BRINGING BACK THE CULTURE By: Vuyo Cebekhulu Twitter: @theeBlack_vee Email: sinothilevuyo@gmail.com The Ingoma kaZwelonke is a Zulu traditional dance festival that took place at People’s Park near Moses Mabhida Stadium in Durban on the 3rd of June 2023. People gathered at Moses Mabhida in their separate Zulu dance groups. This festival is hosted every year around June, participants dress-up in their traditional Zulu attire and are grouped in different Zulu traditional dances. Famous Maskandi artists are also featured for performance. image: google The dances were performed, and it was a joyful play for everyone who was around. The event also teaches about the celebration of Zulu culture and the Zulu history whereby each dance has a story to tell.
