The community of Malibongwe ridge at Itsoseng ward has been facing house corruptions and fraud. The Combat movement united to engage the people’s march on the 22nd of March 2024, Friday where their gathering point was at the open space next to taxi rank, opposite multipurpose center at 08h30 am.
People are faced up with the difficulties of corruption in Malibongwe Ridge, and in Cosmo City. The community is faced with the corruption of houses being invaded, sold, irregular allocation of houses and flats, and fighting against queue jumping.
Housing fraud and corruption includes intentionally and unlawfully paying money or making any benefits to housing officials in return for an RDP house, service stands and rented council property or stands, queue jumping in order to receive benefit unlawfully.

There is also forgery of a prospective beneficiaries’ signature or impersonating a beneficiary as well as unlawful occupation of RDP houses.
Enos Maake, a leader of The Combat Movement and the organizer of the march commented about the corruption that has been happening in Malibongwe Ridge,” it must stop. Human settlement must internally initiate investigations against the officials involved in bogus allocation committee.” He said.
Enos Maake continued,” those who bought the units must be removed and equally charged for collaboration with criminals, we want SIU to investigate a serious organized crime syndicate dislodging people, particularly the elderly from a possible security of tenure, a legacy which they can leave for generations to come. Yes, we want law enforcement to intervene.”
The Combat Movement is a protest movement, a civic movement to address service delivery and lawlessness. Their branch is Cosmo city/Itsoseng ward. 100 have applied for a peaceful protest with section 4, at JMPD to protest peacefully against the current and irregular allocations taking place at Malibongwe Ridge Phase 2 housing project and alleged selling of units that takes away the rights of those who applied since 1996.
The fight against queue jumping on the waiting and they are united as residents fight rampant corruption. “It will be a great honour to have MMC to be the recipient of the concerns from the residents of ward 100 Cosmo city, in particular the people of Malibongwe Ridge.” Said Enos maake.
Kgabi Meso also commented,” the house that was meant to be mine is now occupied by a Zimbabwean sangoma lady who says she bought it from housing officials from Johannesburg”.
