A young rising entrepreneur from Limpopo, Ga Molepo, Boitumelo Chuene inspires other young people into the business life and showing them how to be self-independent.

Boitumelo Chuene (25), a student at Tshwane University of Technology decided to start her own business in 2021, she named it Boity’s lifestyle events whereby she decorates for birthday parties, picnics and for photoshoots.

Boitumelo always wanted to start a business but was scared to fail and in 2020, when she had her 21st birthday celebration, her sister, Lebogang Chuene and her decided to do the décor by themselves, she then had the confidence to be busy with it and start her business which is going well.

Boitumelo started advertising her work on WhatsApp, she thought documenting her work would also help with attracting people to pay attention to her work. She has made a very well improvement, social media has helped her discover her talent in hand-work.

Thembry Mogotlane, the owner of Simple Solution Graphics also motivated her since he had his business also running and she had the motivation to push hers also. “I have good and supportive people around me who always support me”, says Boitumelo.

The business is mainly to help our families so people that she works with are mostly family members, her sister Lebogang, Thembry, Pabalelo to name a few.

Not only she does the decoration business, but also sells gift hampers and she also sells perfumes, body lotions, hand lotions from Villa products. She started the perfume selling in 2022 and saw that it was a success when she was selling to her housemates, she decided to expand the business.

“Extraordinary décor from the best, we bring your ideas and dreams into reality, that is our slogan,” Boitumelo said. She also added that her prices are at an affordable rate since 60% of the people are students and 40% is the older age.

Boitumelo has always dreamed of one day owning her own small business. She is also into designing, and decorating. She then later extended her work to social networks like Facebook, Instagram, and Tiktok when she saw that her work was getting viral and being recognized by many people.
